Billy Bruce Bradfield, 82, of Gresham, Ore., died Sunday, February 13, 2005, in Gresham.

The funeral was held Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, Ore.

Memorials can be made to the Kaiser Hospice Program of Portland or to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bradfield was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Fairfield, the son of Bruce and Pauline Jackson Bradfield. He married Irene M. Mantoen Sept. 15, 1951 in Saint Paul, Minn.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1939.

He worked as a hydraulic engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 39 years. He worked at hydraulic laboratories in Iowa City, Minneapolis, Minn., Los Angeles, Calif., and in Portland.

He retired in 1981.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Stephen E. Bradfield of Gresham; one daughter, Nancy B. Sayler of New Canaan, Conn.; three grandchildren; two brothers, George Bradfield of Packwood and Roderick Bradfield of Fairfield; and one sister, Marilyn Fenton of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Bradfield.
