Ethel Lorene SMITH BOWER, 88, formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Hospice Care of Louisville, Colo.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice Care of Louisville Colorado, 1855 Plaza Drive, Louisville, CO 80027. Online condolences may be left at www.behnerfh.com .

Mrs. BOWER was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Farson, the daughter of John and Eva BRADSHAW McDOWELL. She married Seldon L. SMITH Aug. 26, 1933. He died Jan. 3, 1979. She then married Jim BOWER Sept. 15, 1990. He later died.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Pearl SMITH and wife Shirley of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; one daughter, Darlene SMITH KING of Boulder, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harley McDOWELL of Ottumwa and Ronald McDOWELL of Blakesburg.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jim, Gene, Eddie and Harold McDOWELL; one sister, Grace PARKER; and one grandson.

Admin. note: Second husband James BOWER is buried in Glasgow Cemetery with his first wife. Ethel is buried with her first husband, Seldon SMITH, in Lot 4th.076.
