Margaret CONGER age 87, of Fairfield passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Behner Funeral Home is helping the family with arrangements.

Margaret CONGER, age 87 of Fairfield, formerly of Ollie, passed away July 12, 2018, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, July 16, 2018, at Behner Funeral Home. After the visitation she will be cremated.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial of cremains wll be in Ollie Cemetery, Ollie, IA (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

A memorial has been established and may be mailed to 908 South 2nd Street, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Margaret was born February 7, 1931, in Germany to Johann and Maria (SCHMIDT) SEELMANN. While Richard "Dick" CONGER was in Germany he met Margaret and they got married on May 22, 1954. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before he passed away on July 2, 2012.

Margaret lived in Ollie for 60 years before she moved to Fairfield. She enjoyed working outside in her garden and flower bed. Some of her inside interests were playing bingo, knitting and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Margaret spoke German fluently. She will be missed by those who called her mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend.

Left to share Margaret's memories are her children, Linda WISE of Nashville, TN, Bob (Lynn) CONGER of Belton, TX, John (Diane) CONGER of Wausau, WI, Lisa (Gordon) HEADY of Fairfield, IA, Peggy (Daren) MATHIAS of Richland, IA, Sonya (Jeremy) JOHNSTON of Fairfield, IA and Richard "Jr." (Jesse) CONGER of White House, TN; 13 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two siblings, Lottie BATES of Olympia, WA and Kurt SEELMANN of Bamberg, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Maria SEELMANN; her husband Richard "Dick" CONGER; 4 sisters; 3 brothers; one son-in-law, Chuck SHARP; and one granddaughter, Tiffany SHARP.
