ELEANOR J. BAKER
Omaha, NE

Eleanor J. BAKER was born on March 30, 1933, in Louisville, Nebraska to Don and Vesta URWIN. She spent the last few weeks of her life at The Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. She peacefully passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday, July 1, 2018.

After graduation from High School in Louisville, Nebraska, Eleanor was married to Lewis BAKER on June 11, 1950, in Louisville, Nebraska. They were married for 63 years until the date of his death. The couple moved to Weeping Water, Nebraska, where Eleanor became involved in many volunteer opportunities: 4-H leader, Brownie and Girl Scout Leaders to name a few.

She was the President of the Junior Women's club and Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Eleanor was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was an artist, gardener, and loved watching birds. The family had many cats and dogs throughout her life. Watching events in which her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participated was a favorite.

Eleanor and Lewis traveled to 47 states and to several countries outside the United States. They enjoyed camping with their children.

Eleanor worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and store clerk for several businesses throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her three children, Sandi DIMMITT (Keith) of Benton- sport, Iowa(formerly of Fairfield) (sic); Randy BAKER (Susan) of Louisville, Nebraska; and Lauren DELAY, of Bellevue, Nebraska. Eleanor enjoyed her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her eleventh great grandchild will be born in the near future. Three siblings also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Lewis; and daughter-in-law, Angie BAKER.

Memorials can be sent to Van Buren Conservation in Keosauqua for assistance in purchasing further playground equipment for Bentonsport. They can also be sent to Sandi DIMMITT in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Funeral services are pending.
