EDWARD BURKE
Jacksonville, FL

Edward "Ed" Michae BURKE 71 passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 at Community Hospice Acosta-Rua Center in Jacksonville FL after a 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born January 21, 1947 in Fairfield Iowa to Robert BURKE and Meda (PHILLIPS) BURKE. 1965 graduate of Fairfield HS, Enlisted in the US Navy and served at NAS Brusnwick GA and NAS Cecil Field where his Squadrons "VA-45". The Blackbirds mission was to assist in training the Military Warrior in flight.

In 1969 he began his life long career as an Aircraft Electrician at the Naval Aviation Depot, NAS Jacksonville until retirement in 2005. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Ed truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughter.

Ed was preceded in death by his father Robert BURKE and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dottie BURKE and their three children: Wendi (Mark) TYSOR of Kernersville NC., Ame BURKE, Brian (Trina) BURKE, granddaughter Brianna BURKE of Jacksonville FL, Mother Meda BURKE KOPSIEKER of Fairfield IA, and Sister Ruth BURKE of Sebastopol CA. Ed will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday March 19 at 11am. In lieu of flowers please donate to https://www.communityhospice.com/give/.
