WILLIAM POWELL died at his home in this city Sabbath morning, Nov. 19th 1899, aged 79 years 8 months 12 days. Deceased was born in Maryland in 1820; came to Iowa in 1866 and settled in this city which has been his home ever since. He served his country in two wars; the Mexican and the Civil War, a member of the 6th Indiana in ’61 and ’65. Funeral services were yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock. GEO. STRONG Post attended the funeral.
