Page 2, col. 2.HIRAM S. ANGSTEAD DIED YESTERDAY: FUNERAL TOMORROW. Died yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at his home on East Jefferson Street. Born in Pennsylvania Oct. 14, 1841. He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting in the 7th Iowa Infantry (Co. K) at the beginning and served until the close in ’65. He was married to SARAH O. LYNN in 1868, who with the following children survives: ROBERT H.; DAISY L. PIERSON; HARRIET A. GREEN; WILLIAM N.; J. CLYDE; J. EDWARD; MRS. MYRTLE VAN DYKE; D. RAYMOND; FLOYD C. and HAROLD S. ANGSTEAD. CLAUDE C., age 14, and CECIL C., age 21, preceded their father in death, both passing away as the result of football accidents.....Mr. ANGSTEAD was a carpenter and builder and has been a resident of this county for his entire life since coming here with his parents, JOHN and AURELIA (EDMUNDS) ANGSTEAD when but a baby.....Evergreen Cemetery.
