RITES MONDAY FOR LOCAL MAN

Charles BENENTT (sic), 69, resident of Fairfield for 26 years, passed away last night at 9:30 p.m. at the University hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA). He had been taken there November 1 as a patient.

The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home where services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. The Rev. S. P. Williamson will be in charge and burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.

Charles BENNETT, son of George and Sarah MILLER BENNETT, was born in Van Buren county July 1, 1880. He was married July 2, 1915 to Doris JACKSON at Ottumwa. A former employe of the Dexter company and the Burlington Ordnance plant, he retired four years ago.

He is survived by his widow; three brothers, M. J. BENNETT, Shallow Water, Kansas; George BENNETT, Bonaparte; and Edward BENNETT, Cantril.

He was a member of the Methodist church in Ottumwa.
