CAROLE JEAN (GOODWIN) O'NEILL MORRISON
Fairfield

Carole Jean (GOODWIN) O'NEILL MORRISON, 90, of Fairfield, Iowa passed away January 5, 2018, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Burial of the urn will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorial Funeral Mass will be at 12:00pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Adam officiating.

Memorials can be made to: St. Mary Catholic Church.

Carole was born December 24, 1927, to Wilford "Friday" GOODWIN and Grace (HAMILTON) GOODWIN of Fairfield. Carole grew up with four brothers: Robert (Bob), Kenneth (Ken), Wilford (Bud) and Richard (Dick).

She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1945 and married John O'NEILL of Fairfield in 1949. Carole was a secretary for a feed store in town until she attended beauty school in 1956. After she graduated, she opened "Carole's Beauty Shop"; which she owned and operated until she retired in 1985 at which time she began working for Parkview Nursing Home.

The O'NEILL's (sic) adopted three children: Patrick, Kerry (HICKENBOTTOM), and Timothy. They were married until John's death in June of 1981 (sic - July 19, 1981). Carole was then reintroduced to Doug (Leland) MORRISON at their 40th high school class reunion, and the pair was married on October 12, 1985.

The MORRISONs moved to Portland, Oregon for a time; but eventually came back to Fairfield in 1988. While in Fairfield, both Doug and Carole enjoyed being a part of the local bowling league, being involved in St. Mary's Catholic Church, and volunteering in local government for elections.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, and her daughter, Kerry.

She is survived by her two sons, Patrick O'NEILL of Kansas and Timothy O'NEILL of Fairfield; one step-daughter, Camila MORRISON of Vancouver, Washington; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
