Frank W. Tate
January 28, 2005Frank W. Tate, 88, of Carson City, Nev., and formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in Carson City.
No funeral was held.
Mr. Tate was born July 28, 1916, in Tuscola, Ill., the son of Charles C. and Nellye Lindsey Tate.
After graduating from high school and Eastern Illinois University, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the United States, Africa and Europe.
He completed both his master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Chicago.
He held professor and administrator roles in several Western and Midwestern universities, including the University of Oregon, Washington State University and Idaho State University. He was the associate professor of education and psychology at Parsons College from 1962-1966.
Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was named emeritus professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin Center System.
He lived in the Reno, Nev., and Carson City areas for the past 14 years.
Survivors include one sister, Constance McCullough of Lincoln, Ill.
