Edna Matilda Bogner, 96, of Jefferson County Hospital's Living Care Center, died at 9:51 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at the hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marvin Roebeck officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery in Lockridge.

Family visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bogner was born Nov. 29, 1908, in Lockridge, the daughter of Aaron Frederick and Amy May Snider Arnold. She married Harold Bogner Aug. 21, 1933, in Falls City, Neb. He died May 23, 1953.

She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1926 and received a degree in elementary education from Iowa Weseyan College in Mount Pleasant.

She taught school in rural Jefferson County, Lockridge, Logan and Pence elementary schools, retiring in 1970.

In 1976, she moved to Fairfield and entered long-term care in 2000.

Mrs. Bogner was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Circle and Quilters and a retired teachers association.

Survivors include one son, Richard Bogner and wife Norma of Fairfield; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Glen Arnold; four sisters, Dorothy Carlson, Beulah Button, Frances Gustason and Amy Schmeig.
