Terrence Tyrone DECKER was born January 11, 1946 in Fairfield, IA to Merle and Elinor "NELSON" DECKER. Terrence attended Fairfield High School graduating with the class of 1964. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Parsons college where he completed his college education, graduating in June of 1968. While in college he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dixie HEINSELMAN. The two were married in Grinnell, IA on June 8, 1967. A short year after their marriage, Terrence served his country as a proud member of the United State Army (sic) in Vietnam. After two years of dedicated service he was honorably discharged and returned home. Together, Terrence and Dixie became loving parents to three children, Vincent, Travis, and Tessa. He loved being a father and worked as a machinist to help support his family. He worked at Ileco, Rockwell, and John Deere before his retirement on 2010. Terrence enjoyed the outdoors and everything that came with it. When given the chance he loved to go camping, where he could hike, canoe, and fish. Terrence was a man of dedicated faith. He loved his work in the church bus ministry. He spent over 35 years bringing children to church and ministering to their families. Terrence enjoyed presenting the Gospel to anyone who would listen. He was devoted to his children and his wife Dixie. On June 8, 2017 they were able to celebrate 50 years as husband and wife. Terrence made an impact on the lives of many people during his time here with us. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.

Terrence was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Berle DECKER.
