Sue Coutts Steig, 74, of Fort Dodge and formerly of Fairfield died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004.

The body was cremated.

Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Steig was born Jan. 1, 1930 ,in Pensacola, Fla., the daughter of Quilla Clifford and Mary Gertrude McCumber Webb.

She was an educator, working as a consultant for Arrowhead Area Education Agency in Fort Dodge from 1975-1995.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge.

Survivors include her husband, Carl F. Steig of Fort Dodge; one daughter, Candila Coutts Schickel of Mason City; three sons, Robert Coutts of Boise, Idaho, William Coutts, serving in the United States Air Force, and Christopher Coutts of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; three stepchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Irma York of Pensacola, Fla., and Mary Finn of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
