Elizabeth M. WOLFE

Elizabeth M. WOLFE, 94, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Sigourney Health Care in Sigourney (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington (note: in Washington Co., IA). Interment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends 5-7 p.m.

Memorials have been established for Sigourney Health Care. Online condolences can be made at www.jonesfh.com.

Mrs. WOLFE was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Muscatine to Lawrence J. and Frieda DENNISON VARNEY. She married Wayne Ordell WOLFE May 17, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri. He died in 2008.

She attended school in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1941. She attended Washington Jr. College in Washington.

Mrs. WOLFE was a homemaker and worked at several manufacturing companies in Washington. She was a foundry worker at Crane Valves until her retirement.

Family was Mrs. WOLFE's top priority. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include: sons Robert WOLFE of South English, and Dennis (Sandi) WOLFE of Washington; daughter, Gwen (Ed) SHEPHERD of Washington; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; son Don WOLFE; three great-grandchildren; brothers Robert VARNEY and William VARNEY; and sister Faye HENRY.
