Doyce Allen "Al" MUNYON, 70, of Fairfield, and formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Guy Sammons officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in rural Rome, Iowa (note: in Henry Co., IA).
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Mr. MUNYON was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Leon to Dennis Dean and Marvel Louese ROBISON MUNYON. He married Tanya Marie SAMMONS May 1, 1982, in Reinbeck.
Mr. MUNYON attended school in Creston and Audubon. He graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1964.
Mr. MUNYON was a musician with United Artists of America for 25 years. He was a guitarist and lead singer for different bands, traveling across the United States and Canada. He played in the noted bands of Wilson Pickett and Jeannie C. Riley.
Toward the end of musician career, Mr. MUNYON enrolled in the computer programming program of Southeastern Community College in West Burlington and became a computer programmer and analyst. For 35 years, he was a contract programmer for multiple companies in the Omaha, Nebraska, area where he resided.
After retirement, he moved to Fairfield about five years ago. He still was often called upon by the companies he had previously served to assist in their computer difficulties.
Mr. MUNYON loved spending his free time being outdoors to fish and hunt.
Survivors include: his wife Tanya of Fairfield; children, Shawn MUNYON of Des Moines, Geri (Brent) JEPSON of Ankeny, Lana (Keith) POPEJOY of Nevada, Iowa, Lindsey (Noah) DETERS of Nevada, Tina (fiance Ben Brown) MUNYON of Omaha, and Traci (fiance Tyler Hunt) MUNYON of Fairfield; brother Marvin MUNYON of Janesville, Wisconsin; sister Marveta DAVIS of Valley Falls, Kansas; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and infant son, Roger Allen MUNYON.
