Lura Lucille Phillips, 94, of Parkview Care Center, 2237 Highway 34 East, died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at the center.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date at Parkview Care Center. No visitation is planned.

Behner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phillips was born Jan. 17, 1910, in Scott County, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha Shinn Speer. She married George A. Phillips in 1928 in Davenport. He died in 1963.

She was employed at Juvenile Shoe Company in Aurora, Mo. until her retirement in 1975. She then moved to Pleasant Plain and then to Fairfield.

Survivors include one daughter, Janet Farrier of Fairfield; two sons, George Arthur Phillips of Derby, Kan., and Francis M. Phillips of Raymore, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Speer of Las Cruces, N.M., and Willard Speer of Comanche, Texas; and one sister, Frances Latimer of Ankeny.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Brower; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandson.
