Frances H. PUFFINBARGER, 83, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Fairfield, died today, Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, in Park Place of Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jeffrey Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery, southeast of Lockridge.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church or Lambirth Cemetery.

Mrs. PUFFINBARGER was born July 27, 1921, in Fairfield, the daughter of Roy and Marie DICKERSON WRIGHT. She married Raymond E. PUFFINBARGER March 31, 1937, in Fairfield. He later died.

She was employed as a waitress at Black Cow restaurant in Davenport while her husband served in the military. She enjoyed camping, baking and cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Mrs. PUFFINBARGER was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Lockridge and Green Mound Church of God near Trenton.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley BENGE and husband Dillion of Mount Pleasant; one son, Donald PUFFINBARGER and wife Sharon of Dallas-Melcher; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Rex WRIGHT; and one sister, Louise WHEELER.
