Marjorie Arleta Bonnett McCracken, 87, of Davenport and formerly of Richland, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, in Davenport Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woolson Friends Church south of Richland, with the Rev. Angela Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery near Richland.

Gould Funeral Home in Richland is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials to Woolson Friends Church can be left at the church or the funeral home.

Mrs. McCracken was born Feb. 24, 1917, the daughter of Edgar and Mae Turnbull Bonnett. She married Clyde McCracken Feb. 24, 1937, at her parents' home near Richland. He later died.

She resided in the Richland community most of her life, until moving to Davenport in 1997. She graduated from Pleasant Plain High School, then attended Cleveland Bible Institute for one year. A homemaker, she taught homemaking skills through the 4-H clubs of Jefferson County.

Mrs. McCracken was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Woolson Friends Church, where she also was active in the mission work of the Society of Friends Women. For 16 years, she served as an officer of the Iowa Society of Friends Women and as president for three years.

Survivors include four children, Charles McCracken and wife Shirley of Fairfield, David McCracken and wife Jacqueline of Green Valley, Ariz., Edward Ray McCracken and wife Rebecca of Angel Fire, N.M., and Arleta Baker and husband Mark of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Merwyn Bonnett of Oskaloosa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
