William A. "Bill" McTEE, 71, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).
According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service will 10:30 a.m. (sic) Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. McTEE was born Jan. 22, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant to William A. and Jane ENNESS McTEE. He married Janice TORTAT March 1, 1979; they divorced. He married Marilyn WILLIAMSON Feb. 26, 2011.
Following his graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and joined the National Guard.
He farmed in Henry County for a number of years and worked for Good Year, Pioneer Seeds, Kinney and Sons and the city of Mt. Pleasant.
His pastimes included working in his garden, carpentry and spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Max.
Survivors include: his wife Marilyn of Mt. Pleasant; children, Tedd McTEE of Chicago, Illinois, Nick (Fran) McTEE of Blythewood, South Carolina and Melissa (Patrick) STAPLETON of Greendale, Wisconsin; one granddaughter; stepchildren, Theresa (Jeff) HANSHAW of Wellman, Patty (Doug) SCHNEIDER of Vinton, Julie (Joe) CLUBB of Haysville and Denise THOMES of Oskaloosa; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; and sisters, Virginia STARMAN of Burlington and Kay MESSER of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
