Scott Allen HOLDERBAUM

Scott Allen HOLDERBAUM, 47, of Fairfield passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital (note: in Johnson Co., IA) surrounded by family and friends.

Scott was born March 8, 1970, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois to Bruce and Barbara HOLDERBAUM. He spent most of his childhood in Brussels, Belgium but moved to Wheaton, Illinois during high school. Scott graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1988 and went on to Iowa Wesleyan College. Scott majored in communications, psychology with a minor in Religion. He went on to spend over 20 years at Copperfield Chimney Supply and Interline Brands putting his exceptional people skills to use.

Scott was incredibly kind and intelligent. He always put others before himself with not real limit (sic) to how far he would to go help someone. Beloved by the community, friends, and family, Scott will be dearly missed.

As Scott's final act of kindness here on earth he graciously donated many of his parts to the Iowa Donor Network. Scott giving himself to make others lives beautiful. He is our Captain America.

The family thanks the staff at the University of Iowa, Select Specialty Hospitals, Madonna Rehabilitation and On With Life for the beautiful care that was given to him in his last year of life. They showed so much compassion and live (sic) towards Scott.

Those left to cherish his memories and unconditional love are his fiancee, Tracy, his four daughters, Tami (27), Page (19), Macy (16), and Ella (9), their mother, Stephanie, his two grandchildren, Braxton (3) and Adalynn (1), his mother, Barbara, and his aunts Sandy and Joyce. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce.

A celebration of life will be held in Scott's honor on Sunday, April 2nd at 2:00 pm at Fairfield Middle School.

Cards, memorials and flowers can be sent to 302 W Jefferson c/o Paige Holderbaum. Memorials can also be made to the donor's choice in Scott HOLDERBAUM's name.
