Thomas J. BOOTON

Thomas J. BOOTON, 61, of Lockridge passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home in Lockridge.

Tom was born on July 17, 1955, in Henry County the son of John and Delores (SHAFER) BOOTON. Tom spent his early years in Washington State and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, spending his summers in Mt. Pleasant with his great aunt Vera SHAFER, who was a very important part of his life. He attended Iowa Wesleyan College. Tom was a master concrete finisher working for Turner Concrete and traveled all over the United States working. He lived in Las Vegas for several years. Tom lived a colorful life, he was adventurous and loved deeply and lived large. He was an exceptional story teller, and was a father figure to many young kids.

He is survived by his life companion Toni JOHNSON of Lockridge and his children; Takoda BOOTON of Lockridge, Candice PERAGUS of Reno, Nevada and Joshua (Ann) PERAGUS of Michigan; 2 grandchildren; one brother Bob BOOTON of Mt. Pleasant his mother Delores BOOTON of Mt. Pleasant; along with several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, one brother John BOOTON and one sister Kathryn BOOTON, his grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. Joe WESTERBECK, Clarence SHAFER, his uncle Clifford SHAFER and his great aunt Vera SHAFER.

As per his wishes no services will be held. A Celebration of His Life will be planned at a later date, where his family and friends may come together to celebrate the life of a good man, an excellent father and friend, and a life well lived. A memorial has been established in his memory and may be mailed to the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
