Rebecca Jean McConnell, 52, of Brighton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at her home.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be at a later date, following cremation.

Family will be present for visitation from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Lupus Foundation of America, Alzheimers Association or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 3529 110th St., Brighton 52540.

Ms. McConnell was born May 23, 1952, in West Field, N.Y., the daughter of Richard and M. Jeanette Franklin McConnell. She married Emery Masiker; they later divorced. She married Gordon Seaba in 1987 in Brighton.

She attended Cassadaga Valley Central High School in Sinclairville, N.Y. After graduating from the registered nursing program at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, she was employed by Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa, and University of Texas Hospital in Galveston, Texas. From 1989 to 2004, she owned and operated Becky's Basket Heaven in Brighton. She also had been a member of Iowa Army National Guard.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Aron Masiker and wife Jan of Geneseo, Ill., and Tim McConnell-Seaba of Brighton; one daughter, Ashley Seaba of Brighton; her mother and stepfather, Richard Fessenden, of Brighton; her father of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Connie Horton of Brighton; one brother, Tim McConnell of Wayland; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James McConnell; and one sister, Susan Bushnell.
