Katherine I. BROOKHART WILLSON, 86, formerly of Fairfield passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty (note: in Polk Co., IA).
A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2017 at the First Church United in West Liberty with a visitation being held 1 hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established.
Katherine was born June 11, 1930 in Haileyville, Oklahoma the daughter of Edmund. R. and Betty (KEITH) BROOKHART. She received her Bachelor of Science Pharmacy at the University of Iowa in 1954. She served as an intern at Dollen Drug in Newton, Iowa and became a Registered Pharmacist in 1955 working in Missouri, Illinois, Virginia and back to Iowa as she followed her husband John in his work assignments and where she retired from Dreibelbeis Pharmacy.
Katherine was united in marriage on August 2, 1955, at the Old Brick Church in Iowa City to John B. WILLSON.
She was a member of First Church United, enjoyed reading and needlework in her early years.
Katherine is survived by her daughter Esther WILLSON of Brookfield, Missouri, brother J. Keith (Janet) BROOKHART of Muscatine, niece: Lora (Dwayne) ROOKER and their children Jacob and Joshua, nephew: Eric (Linda) BROOKHART and their children Andrea and Sam and nephew: Ryan (Melissa) BROOKHART and their children Olivia and Elaina. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John.
