John B. WILLSON, 78, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or a conservation or hunting organization of the donor's choice.

Mr. WILLSON was born June 11, 1932, in Evanston, Ill., the son of Armour M. and Esther P. BROWNE WILLSON. He married Katherine BROOKHART Aug. 2, 1955, at the Old Brick Church in Iowa City.
Mr. WILLSON graduated from Davenport High School in 1949. He had attended public schools in Davenport and Fairfield. He attended the University of Iowa and then graduated from St. Ambrose University in 1954 with a bachelor's degree. The WILLSONs first lived in Kansas City, and then Mr. WILLSON's career took the couple to Chicago and Richmond, Va. They later moved to Fairfield and finally West Liberty, where Mr. WILLSON retired in 1993.
Mr. WILLSON was a member of First Church United in West Liberty, National Rifle Association and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as trap and skeet shooting competitions. He also enjoyed barbershop quartets and was at one time a member of one.
Survivors include his wife of West Liberty and one daughter, Esther WILLSON of Brookfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
