Russell "Rusty" E. KOCH, 72 of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at his home.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

Russell "Rusty" E. KOCH, age 72 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his home under the care of his daughter Jessica and Hospice of Washington County.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor John Kermott officiating. After the service, he will be cremated and burial of cremains will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the family. Cards and memorials can be sent to: Julie SILVERS, 609 S. 33rd Street, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Russell "Rusty" was born August 22, 1944 to John and Mabel KOCH in Fairfield, IA. He married Sharon Kay PREVETT on July 16, 1963 in Fairfield, IA at the Free Methodist Church. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before she passed away December 17, 2014.

Russell served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was a laborer at Iowa Malleable until it closed, then was a truck driver for Dickey Transport, then he worked at Iowa Tire. Rusty enjoyed his grandkids, going to the river cabin in Keosauqua during the summer, hanging out at Arnolds Auto with the guys and being with his emotional support dog, Baby Mae. Rusty was a member of Eagles Lodge (sic - Aerie) #1927.

Russell is survived by his one son, John KOCH of Fairfield, IA; 3 daughters, Julie (Guy) SILVERS and Jessica (Chad) PARKHURST both of Fairfield, IA, Justine (Jeff) CRAFF of Stockport, IA; beloved dog, Baby Mae; 5 grandchildren, Jordan KOCH, Blaine SILVERS, Brookelynn SILVERS, Sheldon CRAFF and Keaton CRAFF; and one brother, Charles KOCH of Albia, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel KOCH; and his wife, Sharon KOCH.
