Ardis E. KNOP

Ardis Elaine KNOP, 94, of Atlantic, died Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Heritage House in Atlantic (note: in Cass Co., IA).

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, with the Rev. Ken Davidson officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorials to Zion Lutheran Church. Condolences can be left at www.rolandfuneralservice.com.

Roland Funeral Service is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. KNOP was born May 10, 1922, in Elliott to Loy William and Grace Willard GEESAMAN SMITH. She married Raymond Walter KNOP Aug. 8, 1948, in Griswold.

She graduated from Elliott High School.

In addition to helping on the farm, Mrs. KNOP worked for many years as a bookkeeper at a local farm implement dealership.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Women's Neighborhood Club. Her pastimes included crocheting and playing pinochle with friends.

Survivors include: daughter, Susan KIENTZ (Tom) of Brighton; one granddaughter; and daughter-in-law, Debra KNOP of Mesa, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Raymond KNOP; son, David KNOP; and brother, Neale SMITH.
