Raymond Maurice HUFF

Raymond Maurice HUFF, 100, of Fairfield, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield after a short period of declining health.

In accordance with his wishes, the body has been donated to science.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.

Memorials to the Keosauqua Lions Club, Zion Bible Church, or the Fairfield First United Methodist Church Music Endowment Fund can be mailed to the family at 2680 250th St., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. HUFF was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Harrisburg Township in Van Buren County, the son of Harry and Orabelle PETTIT HUFF. He married Mary Reva WILLIAMS Aug. 16, 1941. She died in 1991. Mr. HUFF married Glenna STECKER in 1996.

Mr. HUFF and his first wife moved to the Fairfield area in 1945. He and his second wife moved to Keosauqua where he resided until 2011.

Mr. HUFF spent a lifetime using heavy equipment to improve farms in Jefferson and Van Buren counties.

He loved his family, church, traveling, music, CAT hats, saving everything that can be saved, discussing lived history with friends and family, and generally, watching people and places bloom and grow.

Survivors include: his wife, Glenna; four sons, Philip HUFF (Nan) of Fairfield, Daniel HUFF (Ann) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Jonathan HUFF (Patti Balderson) of Fairfield, David HUFF (Karen) of San Francisco, California; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife Reva, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Howard; and a sister, Marjorie.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 10 a.m. at Zion Bible Church, Douds, IA. Visitation and luncheon will follow at 11:30 at the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairfield, IA.
