William "Bill" Gerald HUNERDOSSE, 74, of Fairfield, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Parkview Care Center.
Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

William "Bill" Gerald HUNERDOSSE, age 74 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Parkview Care Center.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Behner Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the First Baptist C hurch in Fairfield with Rev. Tom Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials can be given to the First Baptist Church or to the Trojan Plaza, in care of the Trojan booster club.
Bill was born November 24, 1942 in Grinnell, Iowa to Ivan Ralph and Aletha Marie PALMER HUNERDOSSE.
Bill lost his eyesight when he was 2 ½ years old. He attended school at Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton, Iowa from kindergargen until he graduated from high school. He learned to play the piano, clarinet, and saxophone. The school took a trip to Chicago and New York while he was in school and their band marched and played in parades in these cities.
Bill was also on their wrestling team.
When Bill graduated from high school he spent some time at the Iowa Commission for the blind in Des Moines where he learned how to walk around town more efficiently with his cane.
Then he spent a year and a half at the University of Iowa where he studied journalism.
He spent some time at the Jefferson County Home before he became a resident at Nelson's Nursing Home for nearly 28 years. He spent his last 8 years at Parkview Care Center.
He enjoyed emailing numerous friends, listening to Lee Muntz broadcast Trojans sporting events and listening to the Hawkeyes on the radio. Recently he got to celebrate a world series victory when his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, finally won a world series.
Bill is survived by his brothers Bob HUNERDOSSE, Ron (Linda) HUNERDOSSE, and sister Janet HUNERDOSSE all of Fairfield. He also survived (sic) by the following nephews and nieces: Richard HUNERDOSSE, Joe (Allison) HUNERDOSSE, Kari (Graham) ALBAUGH, Erin (Mike) BRYANT, Eric (Erika) HUNERDOSSE, Teresa MORALES, and Julie McKAY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister in law Betty HUNERDOSSE, and one nephew Billy HUNERDOSSE.
