Marcene Mae FERREL

Marcene Mae FERREL was born on November 9, 1945, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Ivyl and Wilda HUFFMAN FERREL. She graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1964. She married Jerry CAMPBELL, with whom she had two children, Mark and Tina. She later married Robert Lee McCARTY, who died in 2010. In 2013, she moved to Phoenix, AZ, to live with her daughter Tina (Bill) SOLOMON and granddaughter Addison. She passed away in Phoenix on January 26, 2017, at the age of 71 years, with her family by her side. She was laid to rest in Fairfield, IA, in Evergreen Cemetery (note: in Lot 6th.081), next to her son Mark and brother Phil.

Marcene's favorite things were fishing, hunting mushrooms, eating out, shopping, and spending time with her family. She also liked to travel, and had been to Disneyland, SeaWorld, the Grand Canyon, and the ocean.

Survivors include her daughter Tina of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter Addison, brother Vic (Karla) of Fairfield, and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul and Phil, and her son Mark CAMPBELL.

There was no obituary printed in "The Fairfield Ledger". Marcene is buried under the McCARTY surname at Evergreen Cemetery, but her death notice at Behner Funeral Home's website lists her under the maiden name of FERREL. Cards and condolences can be sent to daughter Tina in Phoenix, or brother Vic in Fairfield.
