Elaine RUDE, 77, of Lockridge, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at her home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Elaine RUDE 77, of Lockridge, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at her home.

According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and private burial will be in Grant Cemetery, rural Rome, Iowa (note: in Henry Co., IA).

Friends can call noon to 7 p.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Ms. RUDE was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Dallas City, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Flossie Alice BURKISER LAIR.

She had worked at Metromail and Cargill Seed Company, both of Mt. Pleasant, and at various local restaurants.

She enjoyed the country life and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: her lifetime companion, Ernest McLAIN of Lockridge; her children, Tim RUDE with wife Rose of Buckeye, Arizona, and April EMBREY with husband Bud of Kirksville, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one daughter, Staci SCHULL.
