Maxine King
December 06, 2004Veda Maxine King, 70, of Rogers, Ark., and formerly of Milton, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at her home.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Friends Church in Salem, with the Rev. Tom Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Salem South Cemetery in Salem.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
A memorial has been established.
Mrs. King was born May 16, 1934, in Farmington, the daughter of Frank Mathew and Veda Maxine Lenz Cox. She married Robert D. King Sept. 13, 1953, in Middletown.
She graduated in 1952 from Danville High School in Danville.
She and her husband owned and operated King Insurance Agency in Milton from 1975-1990. They retired in 1990 to Arkansas.
Mrs. King was of the Christian faith.
She enjoyed attending garage sales and flea markets, finding antiques and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ron King of Sand Springs, Okla., and Doug King of Benton, Ark.; one daughter, Krista King of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Donna Hornberg of Keosauqua.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Frank "Junior" Cox; and one sister, Marjorie Barnes.
