Rolland H. Underwood, 76, of rural Keosauqua died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery on the grounds of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.

Open visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Also at the funeral home, a Masonic service by the Keosauqua Masonic Lodge will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by family visitation until 4:30 p.m.

Memorials to Diabetes Association can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 24474 180th St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. Underwood was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Burlington, the son of Leo H. and Edna Jackson Underwood. He married Virginia Anderson April 10, 1949, in Danville.

He lived in Keokuk, in Burlington for many years and on a farm northeast of Keosauqua for the past 11 years. He retired as a security officer from Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.

Mr. Underwood was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church and Keosauqua Lodge 10, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons and had been active in the Keosauqua Lions Club.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening and exhibited gladiolus at the Iowa State Fair.

He also enjoyed shooting and had been range master at a Burlington gun club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronnie Underwood and wife Debbie of Burlington and Randy Underwood of Keosauqua; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Leroy Underwood.
