Ralph ROBERTS Jr.

Ralph ROBERTS Jr. age 89 of Fairfield passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Parkview Care Center.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

A Private graveside service will be at Howard Grove Cemetery with military rites.

Ralph was born August 19, 1927 in Fairfield to Ralph B. and Goldie E. (HILL) ROBERTS Sr. He married Barbara ALLEN September 30, 1947. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before she passed away February 13, 1998.

Ralph lived all his life in Fairfield. He served in the Navy during WW II (sic) in the Pacific. Ralph farmed and worked at Dexter, Rockwell and Loudens. In 1972 he retired from the factory and farmed full time. Ralph received 2 Soil Conservation awards. He has been a member of the VFW for over 60 years. Ralph enjoyed reading, gardening, farming and his dog, Buddy. He followed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State and was a Cubs fan.

Ralph is survived by his children, Wade (Janet) ROBERTS and Pamela (Jerry) AUSMAN both of Fairfield, IA; 6 grandchildren, Angie (John) DUNBAR, Steve (Kara) ROBERTS, Mike (Teresa) ROBERTS, Deanna (Jonathan) KELLEY, Natalie PARISE, and Ronald (Celeste) PARISE; 11 great grandchildren, Justin COONTZ, Trenton DUNBAR, Madison ROBERTS, Kyle ROBERTS, Kelsey ROBERTS, Olivia ROBERTS, Keanu GELLATLY, Makana GELLATLY, Payson KELLEY, Aidan KELLEY and Zane KELLEY.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Goldie ROBERTS Sr.; and his wife, Barbara ROBERTS; one brother, Jack ROBERTS; one sister, Pat PERIAN; and 14 half brothers and sisters.
