Evaline J. COLE, 86, of Bonaparte, died at 10:34 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Evaline Jean COLE

Evaling Jean COLE, 86, of Bonaparte died at 10:34 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mary K. Hart officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Keosauqua United Methodist Church can be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 201 First St., Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. COLE was born May 13, 1930, in rural Fairfax, the daughter of William and Marie VOSTREL DUSIL.

She graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids, worked at Welch-Cook-Beals Co. and Kenway Sewer Service, both in Cedar Rapids, and retired from Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter as a secretary.

She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She also loved crosswords, puzzles, crocheting afghans, and watching her birds.

She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Van Buren County Historical Society.

Survivors include: one daughter, Valerie TOLLEFSON of Bonaparte; one son, Dean COLE and wife Sherri, of Bonaparte; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Anita FULLER of Toddville, Loraine SAKULIN and Betty SLATON, both of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister; and four brothers.
