GUST FRIDERIC JACOBSON

Gust Frideric JACOBSON was born September 28, 1843 in Sweden and came to America in September, 1869 and stopped for one year at Genesee, Ill., and then came to Iowa where he resided the balance of his life.

He departed this life April 14, 1924, aged 80 years, 5 months and 16 days. He was married in October, 1871 to Hannah OLSON. To this union were born four children, one dying in infancy and Etta at the age of 18 years, and two living, David of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. J. A. CORNELL of Batavia, Iowa, who whom (sic) he has made his home since February, 1919. His wife preceded him in death March 31, 1919 just a little over one month after they come to make their home with their daughter. He also leaves to mourn his departure one brother living in Chicago and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

He united with the church of the Brethern (sic) in 1897 and was always much interested in the progress of the church and the salvation of souls. He was a regular attendant at church until the last year of his life. He had lost his eyesight several years ago. He called for the annointing service according to Jas. 5, 14-y6 (sic - 14-16) which was administered and gave him much comfort. In his death the children lose a kind father, the community a respected citizen and the church a faithful member.

Funeral services were held at the Brethren church April 16 at 10 o'clock, conducted by W. M. Glotfelty and J. H. Price with interment in the Brethren cemetery.
