Marjory Ornduff, 90, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Batavia, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa.

The funeral was held Sunday at Batavia United Methodist Church in Batavia, with the Rev. Thomas Raphael-Nakos officiating. Burial was in Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.

Memorials can be made to Batavia United Methodist Church or Mahaska Hospice.

Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ornduff was born Sept. 12, 1914, near Batavia, the daughter of Jess and Nellie Acton Loy. She married Wayne D. Ornduff June 19, 1937, at Exline. He died July 9, 2002.

She graduated from Batavia High School in 1933, then received her teaching certificate from Parsons College. She taught in rural schools in Wapello County. She and her husband farmed west of Batavia for more than 60 years, and wintered in Texas for more than 30 years. They moved to Oskaloosa in 1998.

Mrs. Ornduff was a member of Batavia United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and playing cards, including pitch and bridge.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Ornduff and wife Joan of Tomball, Texas, and David Ornduff and wife Sue of Batavia; two daughters, Betty Cox and husband Don of Boone and Jane Ireland and husband Dennis of Oskaloosa; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Gorman of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Royal Acton Loy; and one sister, Dorothy Berrier.
