Ferne Irene Burk, 93, of 2237 Highway 34, died at 7:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Parkview Care Center.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Her body was cremated.

A memorial has been established to Faith United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, condolences and memorials can be sent to the family at 201 E. Buchanan Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. Burk was born Oct. 22, 1911, in Cedar Township in Jefferson County, the daughter of Frank E. and Irene Crowner Bruey. She married Everett Floyd Burk Aug. 24, 1932, in Memphis, Mo. He died Oct. 9, 1988.

She lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She attended Ankrom School in the rural Jefferson County school system. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Burk attended Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville and was a member of Faith United Methodist Women.

Survivors include three sons, Keith E. Burk of Fairfield, Gale Burk and wife Sally of Gilbert, Ariz., and Randy Burk of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Burk of Fairfield; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother Richard W. Bruey of Fairfield; and one sister, Juanita James of Oroville, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Larry Ray Burk.
