Timothy Daniel FLUHARTY

Timothy "Timmy" Daniel FLUHARTY Jr., 18, of Brighton, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa (note: in Washington Co., IA), with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating.

Family visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A general memorial has been established.

Mr. FLUHARTY was born May 18, 1998, in Iowa City, the son of Timothy FLUHARTY and Ruth Ann GOMES.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include: his mother, Ruth Ann GOMES and husband Billy HYDE of Brighton; his father, Timothy FLUHARTY and wife Andrea; four siblings, Taylor FLUHARTY of Keota, Danielle FLUHARTY of Rome, Iowa, Trayton PAISLEY of Riverside and Caleb McDOWELL of Rome, Iowa.

Jefferson County Jail inmate dies

A Jefferson County Jail inmate died over the weekend following his arrest by an Iowa State Patrolman.

Daniel FLUHARTY Jr., 18., of Fairfield ... went through the booking process at the law center with no incident, but after being placed in a cell, he began exhibiting what appeared to be a medical issue that jail staff immediately addressed.

An ambulance transported FLUHARTY to the Jefferson County Health Center, where he subsequently died.

... the incident is still under investigation.
