Glenn Lee ROBY

Glenn Lee ROBY, 86, of Torrance, California, and formerly of the Douds-Selma area, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Douds, with military honors by John Hyson Reneker Post No. 494, American Legion, Douds. A private memorial will be held in December in Torrance.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association can be left at the cemetery or mailed to the family at 1385 Bison Ridge Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 90919.

Mr. ROBY was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Ottumwa, the son of Glenn D. and Naomi KINCAID ROBY. He was briefly married to Barbara WILCOX. He married Pauline Pearl ANDRUSCHAK in 1971.

Mr. ROBY served in the U.S. Army and saw combat in the Korean Conflict.

As a civilian, he was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and resided in Torrance for over 60 years.

He and his wife Pauline enjoyed traveling all over North America, either in their motor home or in his favorite vehicle, a Lincoln. He'd been to every state, every Canadian province, and the Arctic Circle, more than once.

Mr. ROBY was an avid fisherman and an accomplished hunter. He enjoyed model railroads, off-roading, and gadgets of all kinds. He was happiest behind the wheel, and most years, he put at least 20,000 miles on his vehicles. Hi Roller was his CB handle, and he was exceptionally lucky at the blackjack tables.

Mr. ROBY was an only child and fathered no children; his stepfamily was his family.

Survivors include: one step-daughter, Beatrice DuPRIE; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Pauline; stepmother Ethel ROBY; son-in-law, Harold DuPRIE; and one granddaughter.
