Karen K. SCARFF

Karen K. SCARFF, 71, of Brighton, died early Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa (note: in Washington Co., IA).

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brighton First Church of God, with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville at 2 p.m. Friday (note: in Marion Co., IA).

Visitation, with family present, will be 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Memorials for Hospice of Washington County or First Church of God can be left at the funeral home, church or mailed to the family at 617 S. Third St., Washington, IA 52353.

Mrs. SCARFF was born Aug. 23, 1945, in Osgood, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond Keith and Violet Virginia MEEKER JONES. She married Ronnie G. IKERD; they divorced. She married Robert A. FISHER; they also divorced.

Mrs. SCARFF was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1963. She graduated from Capri Cosmetology College in Fairfield.

She moved to Brighton in 1975 and later opened Brighton Hair Affair which she operated until her health began to fail.

She was the activities director of the All American Care Center in Washington for three years.

Mrs. SCARFF enjoyed shopping, camping, fishing and camping at the Iowa State Fair. She was a member of First Church of God and had been a Cub Scout leader.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronnie IKERD of Knoxville and Curt IKERD and wife Cokie of Brighton; two daughters, Bobbi Sue HIGDON of Washington and Holly FISHER of Pella; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and an infant sister, Sharon.
