Doris E. Crile, 87, of Muscatine died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Muscatine.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hofbauer-Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. Burial will be in Evangelical Cemetery in Donnellson.

Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home preceding the funeral.

A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Crile was born June 26, 1917, in Donnellson, the daughter of Chris and Dora Klingler Schlicher. She married Waldo H. Crile June 29, 1941, in Donnellson. He died Oct. 3, 2003.

She graduated in 1936 from Donnellson High School. She taught in country schools for five years near Donnellson and retired in 1980 from the Sheaffer Pen Company.

Mrs. Crile was a member of the First Christian Church of Muscatine and had been a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church in Fort Madison.

Survivors include one son, Steven Crile and wife Judy of Muscatine; one daughter, Beverly Sanders and husband Mike of Camdenton, Mo.; five grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Krehbiel of St. Louis, Mo.; and one brother, Leland Schlicher of Donnellson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
