Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Eleanor L. SOBASKI, 92, of Richland died early Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield following a brief illness.
A funeral Mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland, with the Rev. Bob Striegel, the Rev. Nicholas Adam, the Rev. Richard Adam and the Rev. Charles Adam officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).
Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the family present from 2:30-5:30 p.m., follwed by Prayers for a Christian Wake at 5:30 p.m.
Memorials for the new shelter house in Richland can be given to the Richland Lions Club or the Richland Women's Club or to the Richland Public Library and can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 27501 Highway 78, Ollie 52576.
Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. SOBASKI was born in Talleyrand, the daughter of William and Christina GREINER ADAM. She married Robert C. SOBASKI June 6, 1944, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek. He died Feb. 12, 2008.
She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Clear Creek.
She and her husband moved to Alliance, Ohio, where she worked for the B & W Shipbuilding company as a crane operator.
She also worked at the Iowa Army Ordinance Plant in Middletown.
They moved from Ohio to a farm north of Ottumwa in 1946 and then to Richland in 1947, where she helped farm with her husband.
Mrs. SOBASKI and her husband were founding members of Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland. She was active in the Altar and Rosary Society, Richland Women's Club, Richland Lions Club, volunteered in the Richland Public Library and as a volunteer reader at Pekin Elementary School, helped with Meals on Wheels, loved quilting and gardening.
Survivors include: four sons, Larry SOBASKI and wife Mary of Packwood, Kenneth SOBASKI and wife Sandy of Ollie, Dennis SOBASKI and wife Judy of Fairfield, Robert Jr. SOBASKI and wife Ronda of Richland; four daughters, Linda WEBER and husband Doc of Kalona, Mary Jo GRUNEICH and husband Gene of Iowa City, Laura McKILLIP and husband Pat of Davenport, and LuAnn CROSS and husband Mike of Dallas, Georgia; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Isabelle LEPPERT of Knoxville and Francine FREEMAN of Tiffin; and two brothers, Richard ADAM and Ronald ADAM, both of Fairfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one grandson; three sisters, Lucille ADRIAN, Marion HAMMES and Jeanette FRENCH; and three brothers:, (sic) Donald, Walter and Omer ADAM.
