Kevin SCHOOLEY, 53, of Washington, Iowa, died early today, Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at his home in Washington (note: in Washington Co., IA).

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Kevin Eugene SCHOOLEY, 53, of Washington, Iowa, died early Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at his home following a brief battle with cancer.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at Hillcrest Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Hughes officiating. A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Camanders in Brighton.

The family requests memorials for his son Keenan. Memorials can be brought to either service or mailed to the family at Connie SHELANGOSKI, PO Box 58, Brighton 52540.

Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is assisting the family.

Mr. SCHOOLEY was born Aug. 24, 1963, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Sidney SCHOOLEY and Connie S. SMITH SHELANGOSKI.

Mr. SCHOOLEY graduated from Washington High School in 1982 and most recently worked at Goodwill Industries of the Heartland in Washington.

He enjoyed fishing, sports, bowling and family time.

Survivors include: one son, Keenan L. SCHOOLEY of Keota; his mother, Connie SHELANGOSKI and husband Paul of Brighton; two sisters, Tricia JONES of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Toni SANDELL of Washington, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by: his father; and one sister, Cynthia L. FRITZ.
