R. Emogene ROBINSON

Ruby Emogene ROBINSON, 91, of Memphis, Missouri, and formerly of Cantril, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril, with the Rev. Donna Olinger officiating.

Memorials to Maple Grove Cemetery can be left at the cemetery or mailed to the family at 22173 Eagle Drive, Keosauqua 52565.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua and Douds is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. ROBINSON was born Aug. 21, 1925, the daughter of Guilford A. and Lola Mae SCHUPBACH WOODS. She married Eugene N. ROBINSON Nov. 4, 1944. He died Feb. 15, 2004.

Mrs. ROBINSON graduated from Memphis High School in 1944, attended teacher's training in Kirksville, Missouri, and taught in the country school system at Elm Grove south of Cantril. She and her husband lived south of Cantril, north of Milton and moved to Cantril in 1969. She was a farm wife. She also worked at Peck's Grocery in Pulaski and Hotel Manning in Keosauqua, provided baby sitting in her home and wrote the Cantril news for the Van Buren County Register for several years.

Along with her husband, she managed Hartshorn Manor in Medelia, Minnesota, for two years in the 1980s.

Mrs. ROBINSON was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church and Cantril Grass Roots organization.

For the last six years, she resided at Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

Survivors include: two sons, Raymond ROBINSON and wife Sandra of Nevada, and Ronald ROBINSON and wife Connie of Keosauqua; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; three brothers, Johnnie Lee WOODS, Dale Schupbach WOODS and Bernie Dee WOODS; and one sister, Hila Opal WOODS.
