Donald "Don" L. QUICK, 81, died today, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at his home in Fairfield.
Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Donald "Don" QUICK, age 81, died at his home Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Gloria Friedrick officiating. Burial will be at New Sweden Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Monday Sept. 5, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorials can be made to: New Sweden Lutheran Chapel, First Augustana Lutheran Church or HCI hospice. Cards and memorials can be sent to: Marilyn J. QUICK at 1014 Hillcrest Drive, Fairfield, Iowa 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at behnerfh.com.
Don was born to Karl J. and Mildred V. (PIERSON) QUICK on July 4, 1935 in Fairfield. He married Marilyn J. MYERS on June 15, 1956 at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
Don had lived in Fairfield for the last 13 years, and 68 years in the Lockridge area. He spent 36 years as a farmer and spent 36 years as a tool sharpener for Rockwell International in Fairfield. Don also operated the Broadway Shell gas station for two years.
Don was an avid John Deere toy tractor collector, he enjoyed listening to old western music, watching The Lawrence Welk show and doing puzzles, Don took pride in keeping his farm and all of his equipment clean, and whatever he owned. Don enjoyed watching all sports especially football and girls' softball. He especially enjoyed going to activities his kids and grandkids were involved in.
Don is survived by his wife Marilyn QUICK of Fairfield, two sons and two daughters and families, Jeffrey (Brenda) QUICK of Fairfield, Kevin QUICK of Ottumwa, Rhonda BLACK of Fairfield, Kelly (Joe) FOREMAN of Fairfield, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Sister Pauline REEDER and Brother Paul QUICK.
