SIRDOREUS, SMITH, GRISSOM, TEDROW, DOUGLAS, NELSON

Clarence D. Sirdoreus, 93, of 203 E. Briggs Ave., died at 4:06 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery in Libertyville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

The family requests memorials to Fell Cemetery or First Baptist Church.

Mr. Sirdoreus was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Jefferson County, the son of Edward Elsworth and Maude I. Smith Sirdoreus. He married Thelma Grissom Dec. 29, 1941, in Memphis, Mo.

He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He farmed in Cedar Township, retiring in 1985.

Mr. Sirdoreus was a member of First Baptist Church since 1957. He was assessor for Cedar Township for more than 25 years and a longtime member of Jefferson County Farm Bureau.

His hobbies included gardening, baking, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Jerry Sirdoreus and wife Ann, Don Sirdoreus and wife Joan and Mary Ann Tedrow and husband Tim, all of Fairfield; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Flora Young Sirdoreus; one brother, John Sirdoreus; one sister, Dorothy Douglas; and one stepsister, Marjorie Nelson.
