Orville C. Lee, 91, of Keosauqua, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery southeast of Keosauqua.
Open visitation began today at the funeral home; family will be present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 903 Country Lane Drive, Keosauqua 52565.
Mr. Lee was born July 30, 1913, near Salem, the son of Elvert and Linnie Denny Lee. He married Dolores M. Perkins Oct. 26, 1933, in Ottumwa. She died Dec. 24, 1993.
In addition to farming, he built and operated Starlite Motel in Cantril. He also served as Van Buren County sheriff for 23 years until his retirement in 1979. He was active in the Iowa Sheriffs and Deputies Association.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Lee and wife Janet of Keosauqua and Gary Lee and wife Susan of Fenton, Mo.; one son-in-law, Cecil Cole of Bentonsport; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Cole; two sisters, Gladys Weller and Goldie Enke; and one brother, Ivan Lee.
