Brian E. Sammons, 39, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery northwest of Mount Pleasant.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the chapel, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.

Mr. Sammons was born Dec. 17, 1964, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Gerald S. and Maxine J. Hill Sammons. He married Roberta R. Aplara July 19, 1991, in Mount Pleasant.

He was a lifelong resident of Mount Pleasant. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1983. He was employed as a pressman at Burlington Hawkeye, Mackay Envelope and Alaniz and Sons.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and on his computer as well as cooking. He was a NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ashau and Courtney Sammons of Mount Pleasant; his parents; one brother, Curt Sammons of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Cathy Hinkle of Lockridge.
