Mrs. Amy Ruth TRUEBLOOD, 90, of Rutledge, Tennessee passed away early morning of July 16, 2016 at Heritage Center in Morristown, Tennessee. She was a former resident of Van Buren County.
She was born March 8, 1926, in Burlington, North Carolina to Joseph and Ethel KIMBROUGH OAKLEY. She married Vern Harry TRUEBLOOD on December 2, 1944. He passed away December 26, 2006.
The couple moved to Iowa in the early 1950's (sic) and lived various places in Van Buren County. In 1994 the couple moved to Rutledge Tennessee after her husband retired. After her husband's death Ruth moved to the Darby House in October 2010 and in May 2016 was admitted to Heritage Center in Morristown.
Mrs. TRUEBLOOD had been a telephone operator and cleaned houses and also worked at Burlington Mills in North Carolina, Fairfield Glove Factory and Iowa Army Ordinance Plant in Middletown.
She was also known for baking pies and cakes as well as making candy, especially around the holidays. She loved her family and especially looking after her grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Krista (Ron) McWHIRTER of Fairfield, Iowa and Jane (Randy) PEARCE of Morristown, TN and 4 sons, Dan (Monica) of Algonquin, IL, Brad (Shirley) of Morristown, Brian (Tammy) of Wisconsin and Brent (Hope) of Rutledge, TN. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Audra (Darin) GILPIN and Kara (Barry) WAUGH both of Fairfield, Iowa; Kimberly (Greg) PETERSON, Michael TRUEBLOOD, Mitch (Lucie) TRUEBLOOD all of Knoxville, TN; Zack TRUEBLOOD and Sarah TRUEBLOOD of Wisconsin, and TJ and Gabriel TRUEBLOOD of Rutledge. She also has 3 great grandchildren, Kerrick WAUGH, Fiona and Tilly STAPLETON and a great grandson expected in the fall. She is also survived by 2 sisters Vera ROBINSON of Wisconsin and Audrey NUYEN of Georgia.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda Louise, 2 grandchildren Kevin and Danielle and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Westside Chapel in Morristown, Tennessee. A private family service for burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Rutledge, Tennessee.
