Death came early today to Mrs. Mathilde "Jessie" HEALD, 85, who died at 3:58 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient the past nine days. Her home was at 206 N. Main.
Last rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Naomi Lock officiating. Interment will be in the Packwood Cemetery.
Members of the family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Mathilde HEALD was born April 7, 1889, in Eu Claire (sic - Eau Claire), Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole OLSON. She was reared and educated in Wisconsin.
Her marriage to Elijah A. HEALD took place Sept. 15, 1920, in Chicago. He preceded his wife in death March 1, 1953. Mrs. HEALD moved from their farm Southeast of Packwood to Fairfield in 1959. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mrs. HEALD is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Radford SMALL, Libertyville, and Mrs. Gene SIMS, Sioux City; one son, Robert, Packwood; ten grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude RICH and Mrs. Esther LARSON, both of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
